One of the perks of my job is getting access to some really cool places. I had the chance to roam around pit row prior to the NASCAR’s New England 100 and Camping World 200 races and got a look at what prep work goes into the cars.

Probably the most interesting thing about racing is the kind of technology used to get the cars in top form. Each team brings along three or four massive haulers, which hold everything from spare parts to driver gear  (even a spare car!), in case there is any major problem before a race and there needs to be an emergency switchout. While the races look to run smooth on TV, there is a LOT of work behind-the-scenes to get each car up to NASCAR’s stingent standards.

Pictured above is the Guitar Hero: Aerosmith car being worked on by the crew. Dario Franchitti will be at the wheel during tomorrow's LENOX Industrial Tools 301. I'll be rocking out with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Brad Whitford for the release of the game tomorrow, which will come in Xbox 360 and PS3 flavors, and a special $149.99 Wii bundle (the game, two wireless guitars, and a tour book) that'll be sold exclusively at Target.

Enjoy some of the other awesome cars on display before the races after the jump!
